Fixed filename issue with downloading. Before the filename would be something like 234asdf2223.jpg.jpg and now it saves as [nameoffile].jpg

Its url is HPImageArchive.aspx?format=xml&idx=0&n=1:<urlBase>_1920x1200.jpg, for example http://www.bing.com/az/hprichbg?p=rb%2fRedwoodRays_ROW11815220129_1920x1200.jpg.

I just downloaded Bing4Free and installed it on a Win7 64 bit machine. The software runs but gives me an error:

Project Description
Yet another Bing.com wallpaper downloader. You can schedule the application to download wallpaper from Bing.com daily or even hourly. The application also act as wallpaper changer which help you to change you windows desktop wallpaper.

Release notes

Packing into installer.
Press ESC button to cancel operation during downloading files (testing).

Version 1.0 (Beta) - updates:

Allow to change wallpaper randomly.
Double click on thumbnail to change wallpaper.
Multi-lingual support, currently only have Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplfied, default is English.

Version 1.0 (Beta)

Initial release.
Support download wallpaper from United States, China, Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand (you can extend it by manually adding new country locale in config file).
Support download previously published wallpaper from Bing.com (Unfortunately, Bing only keep for 2 weeks).
Support automatic load during windows startup (you can enable or disable it).
Support automatic change wallpaper (you can schedule or disable it).
Support automatic search and download new wallpaper (you can schedule or disable it).
Support manually change selected wallpaper by right-click on the wallpaper thumbnail.
Support proxy server download (experimental, not tested well yet).

Known issues

Intermittent error during download process. (hence, label it as Beta) :-)

I am looking for people who is willing to assist in language translation. You may submit to my email directly.

You can download solution file/source code from "Source Code" tab, it is written using Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2, targeted on .net 2.0 framework.

This is the initial beta release.

Steps to uninstall the application:

If you have turn on auto startup, you must execute application and uncheck auto startup function from the registry.
Then, go to %userprofile%\appdata\local, delete Bing4Free folder.
If you have decided not to keep all downloaded wallpapers, then go to %userprofile%\pictures, delete Bing4Free folder.
You may also want to delete current displayed wallpaper, delete %userprofile%\pictures\Bing4Free.bmp.
Finally, delete both Bing4Free.exe and Bing4Free.exe.config.

I experienced the same problem on WinXP SP3 so decided to build the latest version myself. Downloaded the source, compiled with VS.NET 2010 and ran the created executable which worked without problems. I then tried the original downloaded executable from 12/28/2009, thinking the VS.NET 2010 install may have installed something that made it work, and it still had the error (see below).

I download the source code and rebuild again, then it works. This one works for me, and I hope it works for you guys as well. Just download and replace the original exe file.

PS: I didn't change any code or settings. If the author think this isn't right, please delete the file.
